Biography

Dr Kan has vast industrial experience gained prior to joining academia. She has worked in Phileo Allied Bank Berhad, Comet Asset Management Sdn Bhd and TA Securities Holdings Berhad, providing her exposure to three main areas within the banking and finance sector: banking operation, loan evaluation, equity investment analysis and portfolio management. She became a CFA charterholder in 2002. Since joining the academia in September 2010, she has been teaching various undergraduate modules in Henley Business School, University of Reading Malaysia.

Dr Kan has significant know-how in teaching and management responsibilities, having taught multiple modules and overseen various roles in the School of Business, Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation. She headed the academic department and was subsequently promoted to Research Coordinator.
